Time, price, cruise ships, walk-ins and touch-ups: the things visitors ask before getting tattooed in Funchal.
I leave Madeira in two days. Is there still time?
Usually, yes. Small and medium fine-line pieces are done in one session. Send us your idea and your last day on the island, and we tell you honestly whether it fits.
I arrive by cruise ship and only have a few hours. Can you fit me in?
Yes. We arrange sessions around ship times, including early mornings. Message us with your ship's arrival and departure and we work around it. The studio is about 30 minutes on foot from the cruise terminal, or a short taxi ride.
How do I book?
On WhatsApp, +351 935 797 309. A booking is confirmed with a €50 deposit, and one deposit covers a small group.
How does the deposit work?
The €50 deposit is deducted from the final price of your tattoo. Cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment and we refund it in full. If you come at the agreed time and we cannot agree on the price of the project, we refund it within 24 hours.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, when there is space. Message us first and we tell you straight away what is free today.
What are your opening hours?
Every day from 10:00 to 22:00, Sundays included. Outside those hours we tattoo at any time, 24 hours a day, by prior appointment.
Is there a minimum age?
We tattoo from the age of 18. At 16 or 17, only with a parent or legal guardian present and their written consent. We always ask for an identity document.
Do you tattoo any design I bring?
We do all styles and we like a challenge, but we are not obliged to do every tattoo. Our artists only tattoo when they are comfortable doing so, always on grounds of common sense and safety. If we think something is not a good idea, we tell you why and suggest an alternative.
Do you speak English?
Yes. All four artists speak English and Portuguese.
How much does a tattoo cost?
It depends on size, placement and detail. The minimum session is €80. Send us the idea and we give you a price before you commit; the consultation is free.
Can I get a Madeira-themed tattoo?
It is a large part of what we do: the strelitzia, the outline of the island, the coordinates of Funchal, a levada, a turtle. Bring a photograph from your trip if you have one.
What if it needs a touch-up after I have gone home?
Touch-ups are free within 30 days, after we have looked at how it healed. Send us a photograph and we take it from there.
